What is Childfocus?
Childfocus provides a comprehensive one to one support service (including out of hours access) to children aged 12 years or under who may be experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Childfocus also supports parents through the provision of a supportive parent mentor programme.
What does Childfocus do?
Childfocus aims to support children to overcome their problems and to be able to cope better with anything that happens in their lives.
Putting you in control
Childfocus is a service for and owned by children, which means:
- The child can decide if they want to meet with us
- They can decide how long they want to see us for and when the visits will stop
- The child works with us to put a plan in place which will provide support to them in overcoming difficulties in their life
Visits happen weekly and usually last for about 6 months, but this can change to suit the needs of each child.
Parent Mentoring Programmes
Childfocus also knows that sometimes parents, or those who are looking after children, might need help. We offer a parent mentoring support service for parents.
Childfocus believes that children can resolve emotional/behavioural issues through comprehensive support and interaction.
